The purpose of this course is to enable PTR Coaches to gain an equivalence in order to obtain an LTA Coach Licence.

The course will be a 5 day course of tuition and assessment for GNVQ Level 2 Coaching, Teaching and instructing tennis, which equates to the LTA Development coach award but will be given equivalence.

The structure of the course will be 3 days and, 3 months later, 2 days. Attendance on all 5 days is a requirement.

In order to complete the portfolio, it will be necessary for the coach to arrange and keep lesson plans of coaching between the two blocks.

All the materials for the course will be provided by the LTA, including the NVQ portfolio.

The cost of the course will be £300.00 payable to BTF.

THE CONDITIONS FOR ENTRY TO THE COURSE ARE AS FOLLOWS:

The coach to be able to provide a letter of confirmation from the PTRuk, which confirms that the coach has the following:

Current, fully paid membership of the PTRuk
Instructor or Professional Level PTRuk qualification, held for a minimum of 1 Year
Agreement from the PTRuk of suitability for the course

When the LTA has received this information, the coach will be sent an application form. When the coach returns the application form it must have with it the following:

A copy of a valid First Aid Certificate, minimum requirement is the one day appointed persons course.

Names and addresses of 2 referees, both of whom have known the coach for longer than 3 years.

A cheque for £500.00 made payable to the 'British Tennis Foundation'.

Placement on the course will be on a 'first come, first served' basis.

The letter of confirmation from the PTRuk should be sent to Sam Richardson in the LTA Coaching Department, and include a covering letter, which clearly gives the name, postal address and phone numbers.
